Get access and sign in
Turnknob is in closed beta. You can browse studios without an account, but an approved account is needed for dashboard tools and booking requests.
- Choose Request Access or Join Beta, tell us whether you are an artist or studio owner, and describe what you want to do. This sends an access request; it does not immediately create a login.
- After an administrator approves your request, look for an account-setup email and use its secure link to choose your own password. Turnknob will not email you a password; never share your password in screenshots or feedback.
- After signing in, open your dashboard. Artists see their booking and account tools; studio owners also see studio-management tools. If your role looks wrong, contact support with your account email, never your password.
- If login fails, check the email spelling and password first. Beta email delivery is limited while the mail service is in the SES sandbox, so an account-setup or password-reset email may not arrive. Contact support@turnknob.in for help rather than submitting repeated access requests.
A Supabase dashboard account is not a Turnknob app login. You do not need database-console access to use Turnknob.

Find the right studio for your session
Start with the work you need to do: recording vocals, mixing, dubbing, rehearsing or another session. The room and available equipment matter as much as the studio name.
- Open Browse Studios and choose your city. Use the filters that are available to narrow the results by room type, equipment or other session needs. If results are empty, remove a filter or try another city.
- Open a listing and read the rooms, hourly prices, facilities, equipment and location. A studio may have several rooms with different prices and capabilities; choose the room that matches your session.
- Check whether an engineer is included or available separately, whether your group fits the room, and whether the studio has the gear you specifically need. Confirm unusual requirements directly with the studio before planning the session.
- Read the verification and booking badges carefully. Online booking may be turned off for a listing; that does not mean the studio has closed. Use the contact options shown on the listing when available.
A listing or verification badge is not a guarantee that every piece of gear is available on a particular date. Confirm essential equipment and accessibility needs with the studio.

Request a booking and understand its status
A booking request and a confirmed session are not always the same thing. The studio decides how it accepts bookings.
- Sign in, open the studio and choose a room. Select a date, start time and duration from the available options. If the room or time cannot be selected, try another slot or contact the studio.
- Review the room, time, price and any extras before submitting. Add useful session notes, such as how many people are attending and whether you need an engineer. Do not include passwords, payment-card details or private recording files.
- An Instant Book studio can confirm eligible bookings automatically. A Manual Approval studio needs to review the request first. Do not assume a pending request reserves a confirmed session.
- Open Dashboard → Bookings and select the booking to check its current status and details. Confirmed, pending, cancelled and completed describe the booking; payment status is shown separately.
During beta, payment options vary by configuration and studio. Do not send a real payment simply because a payment button is visible; confirm the agreed payment method with the studio.

Change or cancel a session
Check the booking details and the studio’s cancellation policy before making changes. A cancellation may affect both the time slot and any payment already agreed.
- Open Dashboard → Bookings and select the relevant booking. Check the studio, room, date and booking status so you are changing the right session.
- Use a change or cancellation action only if it is offered for that booking. If the action is unavailable, contact the studio with the booking reference and the change you need.
- Read the cancellation policy shown in the booking or listing. Ask the studio to clarify any fee or refund before proceeding; a cancellation in Turnknob is not proof that a refund has been sent.
- After a change, refresh the booking details and verify the saved status or time. If something looks inconsistent, keep the booking reference and report it through Feedback or support.

List your studio: a simple first-time checklist
Once you have a studio-owner login, you can create your listing from My Studio. Start with accurate essentials; you can return to edit the rest.
- Open Dashboard → My Studio and choose Create Studio. Enter the studio name and a description that explains the kind of work you support. Only list facilities, staff and services you actually provide.
- In Location, choose a City and enter the Street Address. Street Address needs at least 10 characters: include the building, street and a useful landmark where appropriate. City and address are required.
- Area is optional while location mapping is being completed. Leave Select area unchanged if there is no suitable option; a blank Area must not stop you submitting. Add pincode and state where you have them.
- Check your contact information and facilities, then choose Create Studio. After saving, open Edit Studio and refresh to confirm the details were stored. Avoid creating duplicate listings if the first save is slow.
- Add rooms, photos and operating hours next. A new listing may need administrator review or verification before all discovery or booking features are available. If visibility is unclear, ask support instead of repeatedly recreating it.
Use a real, helpful address for a real listing. Keep test listings clearly labelled and do not accept real bookings on them.

Add rooms, equipment and prices
A room is the space an artist books. Describe each bookable room separately so visitors can understand what they are choosing.
- Open My Studio, choose your studio and use Add Room. Give it a clear name, select the closest available room type and describe what the room is suitable for.
- Enter the hourly price in Indian rupees and the capacity. Check the amount carefully before saving; a room price should not imply that an engineer, rental gear or other extra is included unless you say so.
- Add the equipment and features offered by that room. Use the provided selectors where available, and use the description to explain details that are not covered by a selector.
- Save, reopen the room and check the values after refresh. Keep the listing current when gear, staffing or prices change. Verify the public listing before directing artists to book.

Upload and manage studio photos
Use Manage Photos for images of your rooms and facilities. Clear, honest photos help artists judge whether the space fits their session.
- Open your studio and choose Manage Photos. Click Upload Studio Photos to choose one image from your device. Use JPG, PNG or WebP, no larger than 10 MB; an empty file cannot be uploaded.
- Wait for Saving to finish before uploading another image or leaving the page. The uploaded image should appear in the grid. Refresh once to confirm it is attached to your listing.
- Use the star action to choose a primary photo. This is the main image used to represent the studio. Use the remove action to remove a photo from the listing when needed.
- If upload fails, read the error message. Try a smaller supported image and check your connection. You can retry on the same page; the rest of your studio should remain usable.
- Only upload photos you have permission to publish. Do not include private sessions, faces without permission, invoices, passwords or sensitive documents. Listing photos may be publicly visible.
Photo management does not add video uploads, bulk uploads or automatic editing. If an image is saved but will not display, report the listing link and file type, not private files.

Set booking rules and availability
Booking Settings controls how a studio takes bookings. Studio status, online booking and payment collection are separate controls.
- Open My Studio and choose Booking Settings for the correct studio. If you manage several studios, check the studio name in the settings heading before changing anything.
- Choose Instant Book if eligible bookings should be accepted automatically, or Manual Approval if you want to review requests. For manual approval, review the auto-decline window and save the booking settings.
- Select the cancellation policy that reflects how your studio operates. Explain any important conditions to artists before they confirm; choosing a policy does not itself issue a refund.
- Use Operating Hours to set when the studio is normally available. Check the native Turnknob calendar and booking list for existing sessions, and use blocked slots where offered for maintenance or private use.
- Online Booking lets you control whether artists can request eligible slots through Turnknob. Turning it off is different from deactivating the studio. Payment collection is also a separate setting; it does not configure a payment provider.
- After saving, refresh and confirm your choices. If settings cannot load, use Try again or return to My Studio; you do not need to recreate the listing.

Manage bookings and client work
Use the native booking list and calendar as your reference for Turnknob sessions. External calendar integration is optional.
- Open Dashboard → Bookings. Check the requested room, date, duration and notes before accepting a manual request. Only confirm a time you can actually provide.
- Open a booking to see the actions available for its current status. An approval, cancellation or completion can affect the artist’s plans, so check the reference and communicate clearly.
- Use Clients and related project tools, where available, to organise your work. Keep client information accurate and do not add unnecessary sensitive information to notes.
- If you work outside Turnknob as well, block or update availability for those sessions in the native calendar. Until you have personally verified external sync, do not rely on it to prevent double bookings.

Payments, invoices and beta limitations
Booking confirmation, payment collection and invoices are different records. Check each rather than assuming one proves the others.
- Check the booking’s payment status and the payment method agreed with the studio. Manual or offline payment arrangements may be used during closed beta; online gateways depend on configuration.
- Studio owners should record an offline payment only after receiving it. Review the amount, method and booking reference so the payment record matches the actual transaction.
- Open Invoices to view the documents available to your role. Check the business details, session, amounts and tax fields before sharing or relying on an invoice. Ask the studio to correct inaccurate information.
- For an unexpected charge, missing invoice or payment-status mismatch, contact support with the booking reference, approximate time and a description. Never send card numbers, bank passwords, OTPs or full unredacted bank statements.
The beta does not promise that live payment gateways, settlement or refunds are enabled for every studio. Do not test with real money without explicit agreement.

External calendars: optional, not required

External calendars: optional, not required
Calendar Integrations is separate from the native Turnknob calendar. Your studio and booking tools do not require a Google, Calendly or Outlook connection.
- Google Calendar is optional. If its connection is available, review Google's consent screen and requested permissions yourself before deciding whether to continue. OAuth consent and end-to-end synchronization have not been verified for this beta.
- If you cancel authorization or the provider reports an error, return to Calendar Integrations. A failed external connection must not require you to stop using your studio, listing or native calendar.
- Outlook/Azure setup is still pending. A not-configured message applies to that integration only, not your Turnknob account. You can continue without connecting it.
- Check the connection’s status and any error message. Use reconnect only when needed, and do not assume that seeing Connected proves bookings have been synchronized correctly.
- For now, verify the native calendar and provider calendar manually before relying on external synchronization. Provider approval and end-to-end sync need separate testing.
External sync is not a prerequisite for listing a studio. Never put provider secrets or authorization links containing codes into feedback.

Something is not working: what to try and report
A useful report describes what you tried and what happened. You do not need to understand technical terms to help us fix a problem.
- Read the message beside the field or at the top of the page. For a studio address, the minimum is 10 characters; Area can be blank. For photos, check the file type and 10 MB limit.
- If a save does not seem to finish, check your connection and reopen the record before submitting again. If you see a page-not-found message, return to the dashboard and use its current navigation link.
- For a temporary unavailable or gateway-timeout page, retry once after a short interval. If it continues, report the page address, approximate time and what you were doing. Avoid repeatedly submitting forms.
- Use Submit Feedback to describe the steps, expected result and actual result. Include your device/browser, whether you are an artist or studio owner, and a booking or listing reference if relevant.
- For access or private account issues, email support@turnknob.in. Studio owners can also use studios@turnknob.in. Do not send passwords, access tokens, OTPs or private customer data. Crop sensitive information from screenshots.
Support response times are not guaranteed during beta. For an imminent session, contact the studio directly using the listing’s contact details.
